Alzheimer’s and Dementia Care
Alzheimer’s Disease is the best known of an entire spectrum of diseases known as dementia. Although the two terms are often used interchangeably, there is a difference between Alzheimer’s and dementia. Think of dementia as an umbrella that covers all types of cognitive decline, and Alzheimer’s disease as one of the many types of disorders that is under the umbrella. Alzheimer’s is the most common form of dementia, and the Alzheimer’s Foundation states that up to 64% of all dementias are due to Alzheimer’s.

Alzheimer’s Disease affects nearly 5.4 Million people and here at Never Alone Living Assistance, we know that extra attention and tender compassionate care must accompany every service we provide. Alzheimer’s is no different. Caring for a person with Alzheimer’s Disease can be challenging and at times, overwhelming. This is why we adjust our care plan regularly to face the changes that will become necessary so the well being and safety of the client comes first. It is important to have the support and care that is required as the disease progresses, so don’t hesitate to call one of our qualified care professionals to discuss your situation and answer any question you may have. We will tailor a plan to fit your requirements as well as your finances.

Long Term Care Insurance
Most long term insurance plans cover in-home care. We are happy to assist you in filling out your initial paperwork and provide you with a better understanding of your coverage. We have experience with most major insurance companies and will take assignment of benefits for payment so you don’t have to be bothered with all those insurance requirements. We do the work for you.

Veterans Administration
A veteran who has been honorably discharged, has more than 90 days of active military duty (including one day during a period of war) and is disabled or over the age of 65 is eligible for in-home care benefits. There are also income requirements, and they are assessed on a case-by-case basis. Never Alone is happy to work through this process along with you or your loved one.

Home Equity Conversion Mortgage
If you or your loved one owns a home and has no (or minimal) debt on the property, banks will lend a lump sum of capital that can be used to fund living expenses such as in-home care. There are no required payments whatsoever and the loan does not need to be paid off until the home is sold or the homeowner passes. Assuming there is equity in the property, anyone can qualify for a loan regardless of low income levels or poor credit scores.

Life Insurance with Living Benefits
If you or your loved one has a life insurance plan, the policy holder may be able to collect benefits while alive to pay for in-home care. Check with your insurer to see if this is available or Never Alone can assist you with this.
